Insider blames Xbox One for Cyberpunk 2077 delay

BREAKING NEWS: Polish insider says that Xbox One “not powerful enough to run game properly” .

Polish game insider Borys Niespielak has just dropped a bomb-shell allegation. This news comes to us via alt/char . Niespielak claims via his sources the Xbox One ( and quite possibly current gen consoles all together) are behind the delay of Cyberpunk 2077. CB 2077 is of the most anticipated games to release in 2020. Per the article;

“… Niespielak says that the original Xbox One console is not powerful enough to run the game properly and apparently, Cyberpunk 2077 performance on the console is “extremely unsatisfactory”

The stated sources are rumoured to have told the insider CD Projekt Red was given until January 2020 to fix the issue. If not resolved by then the game would have to be pushed back.

It’s worthy to note that such a push back may have been key for Xbox. If the original Xbox One ( aka XB1 fat ) is the root of the issue, that might help gamers understand the thought process behind the delay. Various sources including Statista report they may be at least 25MM XB1 fats sold worldwide. That may be half the system’s install base at the moment. Per the above chart, XB1 fat consoles where the only units available for sale until November 2016.

It’s also worthy to note, that Xbox has a marketing deal for the game. What impact that may have had at this moment is speculative. We will keep you updated as more news develops.
